WHAT OTTAWA IS TALKING ABOUT
🧚♀️ A new bookstore dedicated to fantasy books is planned to open in October. Fables & Page, inspired by the success of romance-only bookstore Evermore Books, is still seeking their store location but want it to be in one of Ottawa’s walkable neighborhoods. The founding duo have a Kickstarter where they hope to raise $32,000. – Sofia Misenheimer in the Ottawa Citizen
🪵 One of the world’s largest hotel management companies has bought the Fairmont Le Château Montebello hotel. The Montebello, built in a log cabin style, had been in a court-ordered sale after the bankruptcy of its China-based owner two years ago. The winning bid was by Mississauga-based Westmont Hospitality, who beat out a local proposal by the owners of the Sens, Spa Nordik, and Devcore. – CBC
🇨🇦 City Hall will fly a giant flag starting today as a response to US tariff threats. Mayor Mark Sutcliffe asked staff to fly the flag to ‘show our city and our country are strong and united’. The City already owned the giant flag, which it takes out on Canada Day. – William Eltherington at CTV

▪️ “Science and Tech museum and Museum of Nature.”
▪️ “One of the coolest museums in Canada and the library has ‘cards’ you can borrow to get in free ... there is a waiting list.”
