🔪 Seven of Ottawa’s most celebrated chefs will be collaborating on a unique tasting menu at Pasta for Parkdale (Hintonburg, Sunday April 12). Your ticket will give you the chance to savour dishes from Adam Vettorel (North and Navy), Ian Dancause (Supply and Demand), Simon Laroche (Cameline), Coco De Leo (The Dreamland Cafe), Michael Ison (Retro Gusto), Tu Le (Parlour), and Cam McGihion of Bar Lupulus. You'll also get to sip libations from Mike Rochon (Fauna), Kat Nyman (The Living Vine). Alex McMahon (Arlo), Mélyna Amyot (Supply and Demand), and Moe Farhatt and Zack Errami (Before After Ottawa).

In Ottawa, Italian resto Tosca Ristorante on O’Conner is closing. 99 VIP Seafood Restaurant, which took over the infamous racoon McDonald’s location on Rideau Street has already closed after less than six months.

🔥 In the Ottawa Citizen, Peter Hum has found a baker who says that he has achieved ‘Nanaimo Bar perfection’. Adam Cenaiko, who west coaster Darren notes with disdain is from Saskatchewan and not BC, sells them throughout the city and by preorder through Adam Bakes.

However, Darren also notes with satisfaction that Cenaiko uses Bird’s brand custard powder, as well as the excellent Hummingbird chocolate to prevent cracking in the aforementioned Nanaimo bars. We shall see, Adam Bakes, we shall see.
