🚄 The new O Train Line 1 extension to Orléans will begin testing in October. The first phase is seven days of testing, and, if successful, will be followed by 21 days of formal testing. In theory, this could mean a November opening, but no date has been officially given. – Arthur White-Crummey at CBC

BUT, ONE MORE THING ...
American trade journal of live entertainment, Pollstar, has a good interview with Bronwyn Campbell, general manager of the new History Ottawa.
Campbell seems pretty bullish about the venue being able to attract acts that skip Ottawa as they travel between Toronto and Montréal, but Vancouver boy Darren found this part hit home:

Pollstar: Ottawa is the capital but I’m sure many readers outside Canada don’t know much about the city and the proximity to Montréal. Can you tell us about it?
Bronwyn Campbell: I was new to Ottawa as well. Ottawa has a bit of a bad reputation of being a sleepy city and it needed some life to it, but my experience in the city has been the opposite. Ottawa is really about the people. The people are so welcoming and kind and warm and coming from Vancouver, it’s not always the case [laughs]. I’m from Vancouver, so I’m allowed to say that. It’s a really beautiful city. It’s a city that is full of excited music lovers.
”
