• Road Trip: Sometimes, a single music festival just won't cut it. Thank goodness for the Palmer Rapids Twin Music Festivals, which get underway today an hour and forty-five minutes from Ottawa. The 44th Annual Bluegrass Festival and 38th Annual Country Festival happen by the Madawaska River and are just three minutes' walk apart. In addition to great music all weekend long, the event offers swimming, fishing, and camping, with weekend passes including access to "uncrowded on-site camping". 

• Chamberfest begins with an intimate 1:00 pm concert by Gryhon Trio at the Robo Lounge and Opening Night Opera: Dido and Aeneas. (Centretown)
