• The program is placing 64 researchers ‘whose work has the potential to be commercialized’ to universities across Canada.

• Joining the University of Ottawa will be Gabriel Bowen (University of Utah), Jennifer Spence (Harvard University), Frederico Rosei (University of Trieste), Kevin Hall (AstraZeneca), Ryan McNeil (Yale University), Olga Smirnova (Max Born Institute), and Cassian Yee (MD Anderson Cancer Center).

• The 24 year-old took gold in the C1 500-metre final Saturday at the 2026 ICF Canoe Sprint & Paracanoe World Championships in Poznań, Poland.

  Brianna Hennessy of Ottawa also had a podium finish, in the KL1 women’s 200m final, but unfortunately she falls afoul of THE OTTAWAN’s you-only-get-an-OTTAWAN-of-the-day-once policy and will have to be satisfied with her bronze medal.
