As Ottawa is a company town, THE OTTAWAN usually joins our neighbours in taking the day off on Federal stat holidays.
But National Truth and Reconciliation Day is not a regular holiday, so we’re sending out this special mini-OTTAWAN instead.

There is a national gathering on Parliament Hill at 3:00 pm. All are welcome. It will also be televised on CBC.

First National Child & Family Caring Society will partner with Assembly of Seven Generations and Beechwood Cemetery with Reconciling History Walking Tours and other activities.

The Rotary Club of Ottawa-Stittsville hold a commemorative event at the labyrinth and trails of W J Bell Rotary Peace Park at 1751 Main Street in Stittsville (5:30 pm to 7:30 pm).

The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum is inviting visitors to scrape a buffalo or moose hide until Thursday.

Singing Pebble Books will donate all the profits from online sales from 5:00 pm today until 9:00am tomorrow morning to Minwaashin Lodge. The store is also offering 20% off regularly priced books during this same time.
