🇨🇦 What’s on for Canada Day

• Free museum access at Canadian Museum of History, War Museum, Canadian Museum of Nature, Canada Agriculture and Food Museum

• The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum at Central Experimental Farm will run free family friendly programming from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Learn the history of ice cream, meet Canadian livestock breeds, make crafts. Beavertails and Merry Dairy will be on site to satisfy hunger pangs. 

• This one’s for the Zumba fans: Take part in the Family (9:30 AM) or Adult (10:15 am) sessions raising funds for Canadian Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Entry by donation. Cairine Wilson Secondary School (Orléans). 

• Or start the day with family Yoga. (Orléans)  

• From July 1 to August 31 youth will ride for free all day on OC Transpo. To take advantage of free transit, purchase a Presto card participating Shoppers, Loblaws, and Real Canadian Superstores, and set a pre-Teen or Youth pass on the card. Tap the card at the fare gate or fare reader to board for free. 

• The Alta Vista Canada Day celebration in Lynda Lane Park begins at 4:00pm, with games, face painting, and food vendors, and fireworks will start at 10:00 pm. The event is run entirely on donations, and the Alta Vista Community Association has set up a Go Fund Me page. 

• At The Laff, the Lucky Ron Show Canada Day Special will get you in the party mood with music, laughter, and stories.(ByWard Market)  

• Spend the evening Latin dancing at José Sandoval Dance.(ByWard Market)  

• If you go Drumming in Chinatown you’ll be taking part in a national event. At 2:30 pm EDT everyone drums for six minutes, celebrating unity and diversity among all cultures. Be there from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Ottawa Chinatown, Cambridge St. N and Somerset St. West    

• For the house music and techno set, City at Night brings the White Rabbit Canada Day Block Party back to Snider Park (Bank & Slater) from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. There's a $10 entrance fee.  Later, if you don't want the party to end, you can head to City at Night for the after party (separate ticket required) (Downtown)  

• The Merry Dairy is a family-friendly stop on your Canada Day itinerary, with live jazz from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, a Photo Booth at their cute vintage truck, and of course, excellent ice cream. (Centretown West) 

• The Mayfair Theatre will hold 50th Anniversary screenings of the cult Canadian film Strange Shadows in an Empty Room on June 29 and Canada Day (July 1). (Old Ottawa South) 

• At the national celebration at LeBreton Flats, the excitement starts at noon with Canadian artists on stage and continues all day, culminating with fireworks (weather permitting).  Additional experiences and activities will be running all day, including live feeds from Moncton and Winnipeg.    

• Barrhaven’s Canada Day festivities continue on July 1 when you’ll be kept busy with a midway, food vendors, games, and entertainment. 

• Beacon Hill Community Association is putting on a Hot Dog BBQ with giant games out in the sun. If it's rainy, the fun moves indoors to the Community Centre. 

• Kanata’s Terry Graham Recreation Complex will have live music, performances, activities for kids, a midway, and of course fireworks. Parking costs $5 at the Maple Grove side of the park.  

• Celebrate our nation’s day with an early rise to participate in the Otto’s Ottawa Canada Day Road Races at Earl of March High School. The event supports The Royal. Donations to Kanata Food Cupboard will also be accepted.  (Kanata)

• The evening event at Manotick’s Centennial Park (at the Manotick Community Centre) will end with a drone and music show. 

• Moose McGuire’s Hunt Club is keeping it casual with an all day drinks and food specials and a pig roast. Book your table for pre-5:00 pm by calling 613-680-4411. 

• Manordale (Nepean) has family activities planned from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. 

• O’Brien’s Road House Canada Day Patio Party has The Yodas playing classic rock from the 1950s to today from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, the full menu available all day, and drinks specials. • North Gower is combining Canada Day with Fifa World Cup action for an activity-filled day 

• In Orléans, the Legion will have rain or shine activities such as face painting, giant Jenga and Connect Four games, and a BBQ, but we're most curious about the Human Slot Machine. 

• There’s lots to see and do in Stittsville today, from the flag raising with Councillor Glen Gower at 9:00am  to the family festival at the Stittsville District Lions Club and the Legion (1481 Stittsville Main St) From noon to 4:00 pm check out the classic and custom vehicles in the Canada Day Car Show and vendor market (Stittsville Main Street) and all the action planned by the Stittsville Village Association.  

• Enjoy live music from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Brew Revolution (Stitsville)

• The RBC Ottawa Summer Tournaments brings the best of Canadian show jumping to Wesley Clover Parks. Kids 12 and under get in free and speaking of the littles, there are lots of activities and experiences to keep them busy. The competition runs today through July 5 and July 9 through 12.

• The National Arts Centre Orchestra explores German Romanticism with a program comprised of music by Joannes Brahms, Robert Schumann, and Clara Schumann. (Downtown) 

• The Hintonburg Night Market brings makers, food and drink vendors, artists, and performers to 1088 Somerset St. W. from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. (Centretown) 

• Close the day with Sunset Yoga and Sound Healing in Britannia Park.
