• Aedan Helmer in the Ottawa Citizen has an interesting overview of the vacant diplomatic properties across the city. In particular, he looks at the abandoned Syrian embassy at 46 Cartier Street.

• For the past 14 years, a caretaker has looked after it but he has now retired and passed the keys on to a neighbourhood resident.

• Back in 2022, the CBC interviewed the caretaker, Issa Khoury, about his lonesome job.
