THE DAILY POLL
Do you trust Environment Canada’s warnings?
▪️ “Going out for lunch is my civic duty as a public servant. Freshii demands it.”
▪️ “Thank god for the hotdog shack man.”
▪️ “But I packed a lunch when I was working.”
▪️ “I refuse to spend a nickel at the downtown businesses whose owners have been bleating about RTO.”
▪️ “I am veggie and also have celiac disease. It is safer and easier for me to pack my own. I cook in bulk and freeze my meals to make it faster.”
▪️ “I work from home, and I eat leftovers or sandwiches or something quick at home most days. I like to go out for lunch as a treat every now and then.”
▪️ “Ever since I’m being forced in the office by my Employer, I make a point of always bringing my lunch to work. I much prefer supporting the local businesses where I live.”
▪️ “Going out for lunch is a treat that can rarely be afforded when local places run you up to $20 for a medium sized lunch.”
▪️ “Retired and used to bring my lunch most days but went out with the team 1x a week to have lunch thereby supporting downtown businesses.”
▪️ “Lunch is the most overrated meal of the day. For me – it is a small meal or snack to bridge between breakfast and supper, too large and just a recipe for a sleepy afternoon. For sure homemade/packed is best.”
▪️ “Munch, Munch, Boxed Lunch.”
▪️ “Going out to eat is so expensive now. Packing my lunch is way cheaper and tastier for me.”

BUT, ONE MORE THING ...
Kyla Silva in the Carleton university students’ newspaper The Charlatan has an intriguing Q&A: How microplastic-eating crickets can poop away problems.
The subjects are Carleton biology associate professor Heath MacMillan and PhD student Marshall Ritchie who found that ‘crickets did not avoid eating microplastics when given the choice’.
